So after waiting forever in LAX to just check our bags (you'll see why below) we got on the airplane...Ryan passed out almost immediately and I got to listen to the lovely yipping of a lap dog behind us for four hours. AMAZING. We were picked up from the airport by family friends this morning who were kind enough to drive us from "Guate" to Antigua (about 45 mins), took us to breakfast, and got us settled in. Today was pretty uneventful...napped and walked around.

We have decided to go to rent scooters tomorrow and drive around Antigua (it's a city of a lot of character and a very small feel). We are also planning a trip to Pacayo --a currently active volcano, Lake Atitlan, and Lake Tikal -- to see the Maya ruins.
